A few people requested that every time a change is made to the meetup date, an email is sent out to the people who have registered.

A simple solution to that for the time being, however, is to set your preferences to tell you when a reply is made to a thread you have posted in. Then post a comment saying you'll be attending or not, that way, if and when it is changed (I'll post a new message if that occurs) or someone else says they can go, you'll get the info on it.
